Why is the dollar trap getting deeper and deeper? A strong dollar is unsustainable, and there are too many hidden risks behind it. Wall Street financial bigwigs are preparing for the future! Once the Fed suspends aggressive interest rate hikes, it may reverse the trend of the U.S. dollar, the monetary system may collapse, and the stock market and financial markets will be affected. Wall Street investors may lose their bottoms!

 

The Fed announced last Wednesday that it would raise the target range for the federal funds rate, its policy rate, to 2.25%-2.50% from 1.50%-1.75%. So far, the Fed has raised interest rates for four consecutive monetary policy meetings and raised interest rates by 75 basis points for the second time in a row. At its last meeting in June, the Fed decided to raise interest rates by 75 basis points in one go for the first time since November 1994.

 

The latest speech by the chairman of the Federal Reserve revealed that it is appropriate for the Fed to continue to adopt aggressive interest rate hikes in September. This reveals two important pieces of information: one is that U.S. inflation may continue to remain high, and the other is that the forward-looking signal from the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates at least in September, just by the magnitude!

 

There is no suspense that the US dollar index will continue to rise, and emerging markets will still be shrouded in risk. Investors are best not to take risks!

 

The dollar trap means that if the central banks of large reserve countries want to sell some of the huge U.S. Treasury bonds, or even show signs of such willingness, the local currencies of these countries will fall against the dollar; this will force them to intervene in the foreign exchange market and buy to protect the interests of exporters. Therefore, the trap also forces these central banks to continue investing dollars in U.S. Treasuries.
